Welcome to Oak Hill
Farm, home of the Ulrich family and breeding operation of McCurdy
Plantation Horses.
Oak Hill Farm is located in
Elberta, Alabama, a small quaint historical town of 552
residents that was founded by German settlers over 100 years
ago. Elberta is located along the beautiful southern coastline
of Alabama.
The Ulrich family and farm are
proud of their rich heritage and legacy of being one of the
original German pioneer families in Elberta.
Matt Ulrich, with his dad
Joe, and brother Scott, are avid horsemen, along with the rest
of the extended family.
Formerly breeders and riders of
Appaloosa and Quarter Horses led to a change after Matt sustained a
severe back injury, requiring a smooth gaited horse for ease and
comfort.
After extensive
research on several gaited breeds of horses the Ulrich family found
what they were searching for---The McCurdy Plantation Horse.
The Ulrich's needed smooth,
athletic, using horses to work cattle and for family trail and
pleasure riding. Their requirements included a calm and willing
disposition,
strong
conformation and good bone.
Their registered McCurdy
Plantation Horse stock are from proven foundation bloodlines
that
reflect
the best of the breed. The Ulrich family is proud to share them
with you --- Oak Hill Farm McCurdy Plantation Horses!
